These instructions will help you correctly install DotNetNuke on the MyWinHosting servers.
The first thing you will need to do is to create a database. You can reference the instructions for creating a database on the My Win Hosting Servers if you need help creating the database.
Once you've created the database, send a support ticket into our support department asking them to grant dbo permissions to the database. Your support ticket should look something like this:
Database name: yourDatabaseNameHere
Server: theServerYourDatabaseIsLocatedOn
DB User: theUserNameOfTheDatabaseUser
Account Name: YourMyWinHostingAccountName
Domain: TheDomainYouWillBeInstallingDotNetNukeOn
Please grant dbo permissions to the above database.
Once they've replied indicating that everything is set, you can upload your DotNetNuke installation. Before you run it though, you'll want to log into the control panel and change the permissions on your directory so that you have full rights. For instructions on changing directory permissions see
"Changing Directory Permission."
The last thing you'll need to do prior to running the DNN installation is to change the ASP.NET runtime to version 2.0. You can find instructions for that at "Switching to ASP.NET 2.0."
Once all of that is set, you can run the DotNetNuke installation routine.
